If you’re running a controller with board version below V38 or firmware below R08, it’s time to plan your upgrade. We're making it easy through our Controller Swap Program — giving you the tools, support, and pricing to transition smoothly and cost-effectively.

What’s Changing & When?

Phase One – Controller Version Upgrade

Starting January 2026, the CROSSFIRE app will no longer support controllers below version 38.
Customers must be running at least V38R08 to remain compatible with the app.
You’ll start receiving in-app notifications soon if your controller needs an upgrade.

Phase Two – Firmware Upgrade

Also launching in the New Year, your controller must run firmware R10 or newer.
Any firmware below R08 will no longer be supported.
A pop-up message in the CROSSFIRE app will notify you if your unit requires an update.

How the Upgrade Program Works

1. Take Inventory

Identify how many controllers on your site are running version 37 or earlier. Make note of whether they are Basic or Advanced units.

2. Reach Out

Contact your local distributor or LCO Technologies to begin your upgrade. We’ll help guide you through the process.

3. Receive Your New Controllers

We’ll ship out new version 38 controllers to you before you return the old ones. This way, you can do the swap in one efficient site visit.

4. Send Back the Old Boards

Once you’ve swapped the controllers, return the older versions to LCO.
⚠️ Important: Before shipping them back, download any data you need (e.g., for carbon credit claims). Once the board is gone, the data is unrecoverable.

5. Cost & Accountability

You’ll be charged a reduced repair/update fee per controller.
If we don’t receive the returned boards, we will invoice you the full replacement cost.

If you already have a version 38 board but your firmware is outdated, you’re in luck. You can upgrade it yourself!
